"BLACK CATS ARE GOOD LUCK" STORY CONTEST

October Issues Only

As a black cat mom, Amanda was eager to have a portion of the magazine dedicated to other cat enthusiasts and felines. Like with general submissions, we are not looking for stories simply about beloved black cats, but ones that left an impact, changed a life or mindset, and were used to bring blessings into human lives.

The winning story will have guaranteed acceptance in the upcoming October issue, and the author will receive the $100 grand prize.

The contest is open during the reading periods for every October issue. Any submissions sent before will not be considered until submissions open.

We will only consider fiction and nonfiction stories up to 2,000 words in a 12-point font, double-spaced Microsoft Word document. Contestants may submit one story to the contest as well as one piece to general submissions, but if the contest submission wins, we will not consider any other submissions. We charge $10 for contest stories.

We will not accept pieces that condone violence or animal abuse, or contain profanity, promiscuity, or dark themes.
