Green
Poetry
I wish I was a garter snake, slipping
around a tree’s branch, immersing
myself into the lush, refreshing
my thirsty eyes for leafy, deep, lime,
bright jungle green. Like a child,
jumping into a light-rippling
pool on an August afternoon.
D Larissa Peters grew up in Indonesia and has been somewhat of a nomad. After meandering around the East Coast for more than 10 years, she now resides in California. Her recent published poems have appeared in Monterey Poetry Review, Sad Girl Review and has a few forthcoming pieces elsewhere.
