Mama of two black cats
Amanda lives in Long Island, NY with her family and a personal zoo of pets (including mice and a lizard named Perry).
She earned her Masters in Education and MFA in Creative Writing in 2019, and became a mom to a human baby in 2020. She loves writing (and has her degree in) fiction, but most of her publications are poems.
Her first publication was an article she wrote for class that ended up in her college paper. From there, her work has appeared in Gravel and Inklings. Amanda hopes to make a living as a writer and editor, but until then, she works as an English tutor teaching students how to analyze and utilize literature.
She dreams of being published in her favorite magazines, Ruminate and Rattle, owning a farm, and working in a little writing studio with a desk under a window.
Amanda is most drawn to prose that resembles poetry in lyric quality, striking images, and sparse language.
